GSM is grams per square meter: the weight of fabric in the blanket. It is the single best quick measure of blanket quality, because weight is what you feel as plushness, drape, and warmth. Mass-market fleece blankets run about 200 to 300 GSM. Our NubaySoft line runs 400 to 1060 GSM, so even our entry tier is heavier than the typical 'premium' fleece.
NubaySoft is our proprietary ultra-soft plush, developed and manufactured exclusively for Spectator Sport USA. It is a dense-pile fabric engineered for hand-feel and durability: it does not shed lint, does not pill into fuzzy bobbles, and carries photo-realistic printing without stiffening.
No. Pilling and shedding are what happens to loose, low-density fleece fibers under friction and washing. NubaySoft uses a dense microfiber pile that holds its surface, so the blanket keeps its day-one feel through years of regular laundering.
Longer than most people expect. We do not publish a coined service-life number, but owners tell us on camera their blankets are still like new after 8 and 10 years of normal use and washing. These are keepsake-grade blankets, not event souvenirs, which is why families tend to keep and use them for years.
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low. Because the pile is dense microfiber rather than loose fleece, it comes out of the wash without pilling, shedding, or losing its softness.
